Material developments such as creep advanced 9%Cr resisting steels for high temperature and high pressure components, still play a big role in the new projects in the field of the super-critical and Ultra-supercritical steam parameters applications.
The T/P91 (9%CrMo) materials are now well recognized and in use worldwide. A specific focus have been engaged some years ago to more advanced grades such as T/P92 and this steel has already been welded in some projects in Europe, USA, Japan and China.
Even though these T/P92 materials are used at high temperature, where toughness is not a matter of concern, it is important that the welded joints show also a good toughness at room temperature, for fabrication and construction steps and for start-up and shut down considerations.
CROMOCORD 9M : basic synthetic electrode classified AWS A5.5: E 9018-B91 H4 type 9Cr1MoV-Nb-N for creep resistant steels ASTM T/P 91, forgings and thick-walled cast steel (G-X12CrMoVNb9-1). Nickel free weld metal to improve Rm at high temperature. Suits perfectly the piping works, as well as the casting repairs (steam valves, steam turbine casings).
CROMOCORD 10M: Basic electrode classified A5.5: ~ E 9018-G H4. Welding of
ASTM steel plates, pipes and forgings assembly, cast valve casing, cast Steam turbine casing for assemblies and repairs. For base materials such as GX 12 CrMoWVNbN 10 1 1 or similar.
CROMOCORD 91 : Basic synthetic electrode classified A5.5: E 9018-B91 H4. 9Cr1MoV-Nb-N for creep resistant steels T/P 91. (Ni+Mn) restriction to increase the Ac1 temperature in order to avoid harmful microstructure transformation during industrial PWHT.

Classified AWS A5.23 F9PZ-EB91-B91. Specially designed for high creep resistant alloys such as T/P91 materials. The OE-S1CrMo91 wire offers a very high purity of the weld metal, and the high basicity of the flux provides a maximum resistance to hot cracking at high interpass temperatures. High charpy toughness is combined with good creep properties. Flux from DRYBAG can be used without redrying (300°C-350°C). (Ni+Mn) restriction following the most demanding guidelines, for a better Ac1 temperature achievement after industrial PWHT.
